The rigid box is one of our most popular box styles for adding a touch of luxury to your packaging. Though they feel luxurious, these boxes are popular solutions for all kinds of businesses. In this blog post, we’re going over our favourite and most popular structures of this box style. Read on to learn more!
Hinge Lid
This rigid box style comes in one piece. The lid is attached to one edge of the box and swings shut. The lid is held in place either by magnets that are embedded below the surface paper, or by adding an offset section on the lid that locks flush to the rest of the box.
Perfect for: wine, gift boxes, gift cards, and luxury products
Collapsible
While most rigid boxes come pre-formed, the collapsible rigid boxes arrive flat! These boxes are the rare exception in the world of rigid boxes, because they require some additional assembly from the end-user! We achieve this by either providing additional adhesive for the flaps, or adding a longer flap that folds over to become the base of the box’s interior.
A versatile option for things like: catering boxes, wine, and holiday gifts!
Drawer
A two-part box, the drawer box features an outer sleeve and an inner compartment. Unlike the folding carton drawer box, these boxes come pre-formed. We recommend adding either a pull tab or die-cut thumbhole to make pulling the insert box out easier!
our favourite ways to use this style: chocolates, gift sets, and perfumes!
Base and Lid
Another two-part box, the name of this style is fairly self-explanatory. The lid portion of the box is slightly larger than the base to accommodate a snug fit. These boxes are one of the classic box structures for this kind of box. If you want to add a touch of luxury to your customers’ experience with your business but don’t want to go too complex, this style is the perfect choice!
Some creative ways to use this style: takeout omakase sets, artisan chocolates, pastries
Cuff Ring
Looking to add a pop of colour or contrast to your custom rigid box? The cuff ring box features a slightly offset inner lip that shows when the box is closed. These boxes take an already luxurious feeling box to new heights. This style can be based on either a hinged lid or base and lid style depending on the kind of experience you want your customers to have!
Use this style to elevate things like: jewellery, footwear, limited edition items
